CULLMAN, Ala. – A group of local residents has formed a new chapter of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) that will serve Cullman County. PFLAG is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, educating and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and their families. A cornerstone of a PFLAG chapter is its monthly support group meetings for parents, friends and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

PFLAG Cullman will host a launch event in January 2025. The meet-and-greet type event will feature information about the organization, ways to sign up for support groups and light refreshments.

“We have a heart for making sure that our local LGBTQ+ family and friends can find community and resources right here in Cullman,” said PFLAG Cullman President Lance Conn. “Everyone is welcome to drop by, meet us and learn more about how we can all work together.”

The launch event will be held at the North Alabama Agriplex from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025. More information can be found at www.pflagcullman.org and www.facebook.com/pflagcullman.
