September Lavone Finch, age 62, of Cullman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at UAB Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born Tuesday, September 25, 1962.
September was a beloved wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She was always there for her family and friends, offering support, positivity, and love in abundance.
September – or Sissy as she was known to many friends and family members – was a force to be reckoned with. To say that September lost her battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis would be wrong because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, September stayed strong.
September walked through life with a very positive outlook, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with her unforgettable optimistic spirit. Her ability to brighten a dreary day was a God-given talent. Her loved ones – particularly her granddaughters – were the greatest benefactors of the light she brought into this world. She loved them with all her heart.
September enjoyed fishing, gardening, crafting, shopping, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. She lived her life to the fullest and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
September was preceded in death by her sister, April Summers; and her brother, Sam Summers.

Sons – Earl Finch, James(Tonya) Finch
Grandchildren – Natalie Finch, Kyleigh Finch, Paisley Finch, Lillian Finch
Mother- Audry Villani
Brothers – Angelo Villani, Jerry Summers, Jr.
Sister – Kasey Summers
Visitation will be held at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024 immediately followed by a celebration of September’s life at 2 p.m. with Bro. Andrew Heptinstall officiating.
