CULLMAN, Ala. – More than 700 people came out to a dinner Tuesday night, Dec. 10, 2024, at Cotton Creek Warehouse downtown ahead of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Jimmy Arrington Memorial Rodeo. The rodeo will take place Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14, at the Cullman County Agricultural Trade Center.
Thursday morning, Dec. 12, Sheriff Matt Gentry and the CCSO will welcome the area’s special needs students for a special mini rodeo, an event that is near and dear to the sheriff’s heart.
“The special needs rodeo is always the highlight of the event,” Gentry said. “The kids’ faces and everyone else’s excitement in response makes the entire week worthwhile.”
The CCSO said the 4L & Diamond S Rodeo Company always puts on a fantastic show.
“It is a championship caliber rodeo every single year,” Gentry said. “We expect no less this year. We want families to come out for a unique experience – good wholesome fun that we as a community are able to enjoy together.”
On Friday and Saturday, gates will open at 5 p.m. Each night, there will be a kids’ scramble at 7, and the rodeo will kick off at 7:30. Tickets will be sold at the door: adults $10, children/students $8, 6 and younger get in free. Cash only; an ATM will be on-site.
