HAM radio license testing offered by Cullman Amateur Radio Club – Dec. 12

The Cullman Amateur Radio Club will host its monthly HAM radio license testing on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 7-9 p.m. The testing session will take place at the old Commission on Aging building, located just before the entrance to Sportsman Lake Park. CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman Amateur Radio Club will host its monthly HAM radio license testing on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 7-9 p.m. The testing session will take place at the old Commission on Aging building, located just before the entrance to Sportsman Lake Park.

The testing is open to the public and provides an opportunity for those interested in obtaining or upgrading their HAM radio license. The three license classes available are Technician, General and Extra.

Participants are encouraged to bring a photo ID and a photocopy of their current license or a current CSCE if upgrading. The examination fee is $15, payable by exact cash or check made out to the “Cullman Amateur Radio Club.”

“The Cullman Amateur Radio Club of Cullman, Alabama with the callsign N4TUN, is an ARRL-affiliated, Special Service club formed for the purpose of promoting amateur radio in our community. The Club offers many avenues for your amateur radio enjoyment and growth.,” stated the official Cullman Amateur Radio Club website. “We actively support the Cullman Emergency Management Agency and Skywarn as well as several community service agencies.”

For those who are new to HAM radio and would like to learn more, the Cullman Amateur Radio Club will have representatives on hand to answer questions and provide guidance on how to get started during the license testing on Dec. 12.

“The Club meets the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 7 p.m. at the Cullman County Commission on Aging building, located on Sportsman Lake Road, just off Highway 31 North. Guests are always welcome,” the website states.
