Lowe’s provides Thanksgiving meals to community members in need
CULLMAN, Ala. – Lowe’s continued its annual tradition of giving back to the community by donating six family meals purchased from Publix to local organizations and families in need. Meals were distributed to patients of the Good Samaritan Health Clinic, veterans supported by the VFW and children at the Pilot Light Home for abused and neglected youth. Representatives from all three organizations gathered at the Good Samaritan Health Clinic at 10 a.m. on Tuesday to receive the meals.
Zach Lee, operations manager at Lowe’s and chairman of the board for Good Samaritan Health Clinic, emphasized the importance of community outreach during the holiday season.
“The holidays are often challenging times for many of us. Having enough food for our families shouldn’t be an issue, but sadly it is,” Lee shared. “We make it our annual mission to provide meals for families in need during Thanksgiving and Christmas.”
Lowe’s has been providing holiday meals to the community for more than a decade. Lee highlighted the collaborative spirit and powerful impact driving the initiative.
“As someone who wears multiple hats in the community, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with various organizations to support our community,” Lee said. “Through these partnerships, I’ve witnessed firsthand the significant impact that collective support can have.”
This year’s donations spotlighted the work of local organizations that Lee described as “heroes of the community.” He praised their dedication to serving others and underscored Lowe’s commitment to supporting these efforts.
“By teaming up with local organizations, we ensure that our efforts are directed where they’re needed most. Our community is truly special, with people who come together to uplift one another in times of need,” Lee added. “It’s all about the community and having a servant’s heart.”
