CULLMAN, Ala. – A crowd of friends, family and fitness enthusiasts gathered on Second Avenue Southeast Saturday morning to celebrate the grand opening of Cullman’s newest fitness center. After two years of working towards their goal, Evolve Fitness owners Logan and Madeline Brooks cut the ribbon on their new location in Cullman.

“I’ve wanted this since I was 18 years old and I’m 26 now so it took some time to get here to the grand opening,” Logan Brooks said. “Originally, we wanted a big, brick and mortar gym and then I realized that I wanted something more community oriented. I don’t want 1,000 members, I want 200-400 really good, close-knit members. I want to be involved in the community and make an impact on each individual so that they can inspire someone else to do the same thing. I started in Cullman because it’s a great environment to start something in fitness. I feel like fitness is not educated upon here or marketed a lot, so I saw a window of opportunity for me to make an impact in this community. That’s what has ultimately led us to this point. That’s why our mission statement is “Empower, Transform, Inspire.”

“We’re thankful that all of you came out to celebrate with us today, we really appreciate it,” Madeline Brooks said. “It’s been a long time coming so we’re excited.”

Evolve Fitness will offer two classes, Rhythm Cycling and Strength45 personalized group training. It’s important to Logan that Evolve provides high quality instruction in both classes that will be effective for beginners and experts.

“We do two classes. We have Rhythm Cycling where we’re on beat with the music and it’s kind of like a choreographed dance. It’s a super fun, energetic, upbeat environment and then we also offer personalized group training,” Logan Brooks said. “What that entails is you come in and the workout is personalized just for you. We have a set amount of workouts per muscle group so we’ll have different muscle groups that we’re working each day. Then you just pick throughout the week what that entails for you. We want to be really good at both of those things and that’s why we don’t offer anything else. I want my instructors to be as good at leading those things as possible. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert at lifting, our workouts are really set up for either. We want you to be as comfortable and as confident as possible when you’re exercising.”

Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce President Joey Orr was there to provide the ribbon and congratulate Logan and Madeline Brooks on their achievement.

“One of the parts of my job that I love the most is coming to ribbon cuttings because you guys embody that entrepreneurial spirit. There’s a plan, a vision and that extra ingredient of grit,” Orr said. “Just watching you all put this together from having pop ups in parks and parking lots and different places to now having your own spot and it’s been really exciting to watch your dream come true. I follow your page, and I get a lot of motivational stuff from it too so I can imagine what it’s like to be in a training room with y’all, so we’re all exited for you.”
