Sharon K. Pigg of Crane Hill passed away October 23, 2024.
Sharon was born December 30, 1940 in Sylacauga, Alabama. She had a long career starting out working part time during “Tag Season” at the Courthouse in Bessemer and retired in 1999 as the Deputy City Clerk, of the City of Fultondale. Sharon loved to cook for the family and she was always in search of the perfect divinity during the holidays. Occasionally she got it just right and we all celebrated with her when it happened. Sharon also loved to play golf, fish and she loved her animals. Lately, those animals included dogs, horses, cats and chickens!! Sharon loved her family most of all. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Crane Hill and she loved and enjoyed her church family. Sharon remained active in church helping out in any way she could. She was a joy to be around and she will be missed by the many friends and family who loved her dearly.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Margaret Cargile, brother Tommy “Butch” Cargile, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Sharon leaves behind to mourn her and keep her memory alive loving husband Byron M. Pigg, brother Alan Cargile, daughter Trina Vines, Deanna Walker (Eric), granddaughter Kista Hamilton (Aaron), Morgan Armstrong (Anthony), Erika Sissom, Callin Curlette. Great grandchildren Memphis Hamilton, Rory Armstrong, Brylee Armstrong, Cason Curlette, Conner Armstrong and Linley Armstrong.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 26, 2024 at Bethany Baptist Church 1612 CR-201 Crane Hill, AL 35053 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethany Baptist Church (256)747-6435, contact Brad Philbeck (256)620-0043 to donate.
