CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman 2024 Toys for Tots Campaign has officially opened registration for families in need. Registration sessions will be held throughout October and November at the Cullman Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2214, located at 112 Veterans Drive SW, Cullman, AL 35055. Families can register every Tuesday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and every Friday from 5-9 p.m. The final day to register is Friday, Nov. 15, 2024. Dates are subject to change, and no online registration is available.
The Toys for Tots program is organized by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to collect new, unwrapped toys during the holiday season and distribute them to children in need.
Sean Schofield, Toys for Tots coordinator, emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “We are currently receiving applications for registration of Cullman children for the 2024 Toys for Tots campaign. Toys for Tots Cullman distributes toys to underprivileged children throughout Cullman County in order to provide them with gifts to open on Christmas morning. Help us bring hope and joy to every child by donating a new, unwrapped gift in one of the many toy donation boxes located all around Cullman County.”
To register, families must bring original documents, as photocopies are not accepted. The following documentation is required:
- ID: Driver’s license, passport, military ID or immigration ID
- Social Security cards: Physical cards for children and the adult registering the children
- Proof of guardianship: Birth certificate or court documents showing custody for each child
- Proof of residence: Phone bill, electric bill or lease
- Proof of income: Paycheck, EBT statement or Social Security benefits letter
Registration is open for children aged 0 to 15, and families can only apply for assistance with one organization to avoid duplication.
