Pamela Marie Shackelford Stancil, of Cleveland, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the age of 63. Ms. Stancil was born June 30, 1961, in Jefferson County, Alabama.

Although Pam lived here in Alabama, her heart was in the mountains of Tennessee. She loved visiting Wind Rock and hiking the trails. The mountains were a place of peace and tranquility for Pam, and she dreamed of one day having her own cabin.

Pam was a loving and kind person. She faced many hardships in her life, but she managed to persevere. Her challenging times left her stronger and her heart remained kind.

Ms. Stancil was a loving mother and grandmother. She and her daughter shared a close bond, and Pam loved her grandchildren as though they were her own. Ms. Stancil had a close relationship with her extended family as well. Pam believed family was more than just a blood connection though, and she had several people in her life that were family at heart. Ms. Stancil leaves behind a legacy of determination and kindness and she will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Ms. Stancil is preceded in death by her husband, Rickie Stancil; mother, Eulla Bell Ratliff Shackelford; infant son, Steven Strong; J.E. and Mary Strong, who she called her father and mother; and brother Gerald Shackelford.

Those left to cherish Pam’s memory includes her daughter, Amy Strong; grandchildren, Madison Marie Strong and Steven Jedidiah Strong; brothers, Ronnie Shackelford, William Shackelford, Jr. (Kaye); sisters Carol Catlett (Rickey), Cindy Rainey (Terry), Debbie Mitchell (Ricky); and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
