CULLMAN, Ala. – Dunn Legacy Ranch & Tack will host its first public event, the Obstacle Course Play Day, on Oct. 12, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Horse enthusiasts are invited to gather and test their skills.
Participants can enter the course for $20 per person, with an additional $10 fee per horse. Auditing is free, and all horses must have a negative Coggins test. A photographer will be on-site to capture moments from the event. JJ’s West Coast Tacos will be there to provide food for attendees.
In addition to the obstacle course, a tack shop will be available, offering both new and used English and Western tack, including saddles, bridles, breast collars, chaps and other equestrian essentials.
Amy Dunn, owner of Dunn Legacy Ranch & Tack, shared her excitement about the event, saying, “Every year, we host a small party to celebrate the anniversary of the start of Dunn Legacy Ranch & Tack, the 40-acre Dunn family farm we purchased in 2021. This is the first year we are sharing the celebration with the public by hosting our first event!” She added, “The obstacle course is a fun way for the horse community to gather together and test the skills of both the horse and rider as you try to complete as many obstacles as possible.”
Participants will navigate obstacles with creative names such as Future Jouster, Crime Scene Entrance, Room for Two?, Ranchy Pony, Need a Tow, Touchy Feely, Rainy Day, Put it in Reverse Terry, Pool Party and Jumper Wanna-Be. Each obstacle will have an instruction sheet to help riders and their horses complete the tasks correctly.
