HOLLY POND, Ala. – This year’s County Volleyball Tournament finished up with a pair of championship matches Thursday night and for the fourth consecutive season, the Good Hope Lady Raiders claimed the county title. Good Hope swept West Point 3-0 in Thursday night’s finals, led by tournament MVP Carley Adams. It was a good night for Good Hope in the JV division as well. The Lady Raiders topped West Point 2-1 to earn this year’s JV championship.

Good Hope 3 – West Point 0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-12)

The opening set between the Raiders and Warriors was a tight one. Neither team could build more than a 2-point lead early on and the score was still knotted at 11 midway through the set. Trailing 20-19 late in the set, West Point was able to rally and pull ahead 22-21 at one point but Good Hope outscored the Warriors 4-0 the rest of the way and took a hard-fought first set 25-22.

The Raiders jumped out to a 4-1 lead to start the second set, but West Point battled back to tie things up at 10 as the set went on. That’s when Good Hope took control, putting together a 9-1 run to pull ahead 19-11. The Raiders moved in front 23-14 and closed out the second set 25-17 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Good Hope was dominant in the third set, finishing strong with the county title on the line. The Raiders led 7-1 early on and stretched their lead to 17-8 later in the set.
