CULLMAN, Ala. – The brick and mortar may be brand spanking new, but the business it houses at 802 Main Ave. NE is a long-standing staple in the community. Monograms Plus held its Girls’ Day Out on Saturday, Sept. 21, in celebration of 25 years in business, providing longtime customers and first time visitors an afternoon to remember.

The community came together in a big way to celebrate the curated emporium’s momentous quarter-century anniversary with a day full of prizes, swag bags and important announcements for the future business owners of Cullman.

To make the day of sales, smiles and treats even sweeter, the first 50 people in line got to grab stuffed swag bags, scratch off gift cards for random dollar amounts and enter the “money pit” for a chance to grab extra Monograms Plus bucks. Traffic on Main Avenue Northeast was unusual on the Saturday morning, with 100 people in line before the store opened and the very first person arriving at 4 a.m., an incredible six hours before the doors were unlocked.

Owner Lynsey Todd smiled and said, “We were so excited to arrive Saturday morning and see the long line of customers on the front porch.”

Todd also hoped to make a true difference with the occasion, much like Monogram’s Founder, Margaret Hamm. Todd has created and funded through Monograms Plus a $500 scholarship for women entering a business-related field or $500 toward a start-up business expense. The entrepreneurial scholarship will be given out yearly each September in honor Hamm’s legacy.

“We are very thankful that Margaret Hamm started this business 25 years ago in her garage, and to see what it has evolved into 25 years later is just miraculous,” Todd shared. “We are also incredibly grateful to all of our customers who have supported us along the way. Thank you, Cullman.”
