PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Holly Pond’s Barnett wins inaugural Vinemont Invitational; full local results

VINEMONT, Ala. – Vinemont High School hosted the inaugural Vinemont Invitational at the Vinemont Sports Complex Thursday afternoon and Holly Pond’s Travis Barnett claimed the win in the varsity boys’ race with a blistering time of 17:34.47. Fairview’s Alex England (18:22.34), Vinemont’s Brady Johnson (18:40.53), Good Hope’s Drake Nichols (19:00.06) and St. Bernard’s Parker Guthery (19:19.97) rounded out the top five.

In the varsity girls’ race, Holly Pond’s Mila Edmondson was the top local finisher in fifth place with a time of 23:45.17. St. Bernard’s Madilyn Kerber (25:04.44) placed seventh.
