GORDO, Ala. – The Hanceville Bulldogs were on the road Friday night opening up region play against Gordo and the Green Wave dominated from start to finish. Gordo jumped out to a commanding 47-3 lead in the first half and cruised in the second half to secure a 54-3 win.
Hanceville trailed 20-0 at the end of the opening period but while trailing 26-0 early in the second, Dylan Lazzaro drilled a 25-yard field goal to trim the lead to 26-3 with 9:28 to play in the first half. Gordo was able to build a 47-3 lead by the halftime break and kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard in the second half, pulling away to win it 54-3.
Hanceville will be back on the road next week for another regional matchup at Carbon Hill.
