We announce the everlasting life of our beloved mother, Marjorie Alyce Snow Etheredge, 94, from Logan, Alabama. Margie went home to her precious Lord and Savior on August 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Margie was born on May 9, 1930, to Felix and Marie Stiedle Snow in Gardendale, Alabama. One of two children, Margie grew up surrounded by extended family and friends in a Christ-centered home in Belview Heights, Alabama. She attended Ensley High School and Bob Jones University.

Margie met her life-long love, Edward Terry Etheredge, during a church visitation. Ed had just come home from serving on the USS Missouri during WWII, and his mother asked Margie to come and visit him. The moment she met him, she fell madly in love. Margie and Ed were married on August 8, 1948, at Central Park Methodist Church. Together, Margie and Ed raised five sons and one daughter. Margie raised her children according to God’s word in Proverbs 22:6; “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” THANK YOU, MOM, for loving us and leading us to eternal life.

The greatest love of our mother’s life has always been her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She has worshiped Him, praised Him, shared His love with others, and leaned on Him when life was so hard that she couldn’t stand on her own. She studied the Word of God without ceasing. She faithfully glorified God with her beautiful singing voice, playing the piano and organ, and teaching God’s word to children and adults. Margie loved the ministry of the Logan Baptist Church Prayer Group, and serving the Lord wherever she was needed. She was a long-term member of Logan Baptist Church, and she loved her church family and friends.

Margie treasured family get-togethers. She loved writing poetry. She penned the column Pause and Ponder for The Cullman Tribune. Margie was an avid reader. She also enjoyed hand sewing and watching “her” deer enjoy their meal at the deer feeder. She will be dearly missed.

Margie was preceded in death by her best friend and beloved husband of 58 years, Edward Terry Etheredge; her son, Ellis Terry Etheredge; her granddaughter, Rachel Alyce Joiner; her great granddaughter, Hayleigh McKay Etheredge; her parents, Felix and Marie Stiedle Snow; and her sister, Rochelle Snow Lawrence.

Margie is survived by her loving children; Michael (Brenda) Etheredge, Steven (Angie) Etheredge, Jacqueline (Charles) Joiner, John (Diane) Etheredge, and David Etheredge.

She is survived by nine grandchildren; Terry (Stephanie) Etheredge, Keith (Allison) Etheredge, Brandon (Stacey) Etheredge, Matthew (Kelly) Etheredge, Justin (Lynn) Pate, Hunter Etheredge, Jacob Joiner, Eric Etheredge, and Daniel (Brittany) Etheredge.

Margie is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; Marlee, Mattie, Mia, Camden, McKenzie, Isaiah, Kaleb, Tanner, Maleah, Maxton, Michael, Amberly, Brooklyn, and Hadleigh.

Visitation will be at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home in Cullman on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a Celebration of Life following in the chapel.
