Sherry, a beloved member of our community, was born on March 1, 1957 in Cullman, AL and passed away peacefully on Aug. 13, 2024, in Boaz. A proud resident of Hanceville, Sherry was known for her support of Alabama football, often seen cheering for the Crimson Tide.
Sherry had a lifelong passion for classic cars and was a regular attendee at car shows, where she could often be found admiring history of these cars. This love for automobiles was not just a hobby, but a way to connect with others who shared the same interest. Born to Early Boone and Opal Anderson, Sherry embraced her Indian heritage, sharing traditions and stories with friends and family, ensuring the rich heritage was passed down through the generations. Above all, Sherry was devoted to her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride into her life. Sherry’s home was always filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of family gatherings.
Survivors include her husband, David Ottis Nelson, Jr.; children, Jay Colby Glasscock (Kimberly Brooke), Adam Derek Glasscock, Nicolette Nelson; grandchildren, Jace Cameron Glasscock, Caden Glasscock, Colten Cash Glasscock, Skylar Sellers, Sawyer Sellers, Sage Sellers; siblings, Glena Dahlke, Vicky Walker, Eddie Boone, Marie Creel; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents, Early Boone & Opal Anderson; brother, Bobby Boone; and her sister, Patricia Rutherford.
