CULLMAN, Ala. –  Two women were arrested June 13, following a string of thefts at CVS stores across the state.

According to the Cullman Police Department, Rosanna Imelda Bita and Ana Maria Larisa Bita are each charged with two counts of organized retail theft and face numerous charges in other counties across Alabama.

“On June 12, 2024, two females entered both CVS stores in Cullman and proceeded to steal approximately $4,330 in merchandise. CPD Investigators Watkins, Riddlesperger, and Sgt Higginbotham began gathering evidence and were able to determine that the females also had committed other thefts in neighboring jurisdictions. A vehicle description and license plate number were obtained and a Regional BOLO was sent out to locate the vehicle,” a CPD social media post stated.

The CPD said that late June 13, the Homewood Police Department located the vehicle, and the suspects were detained. CPD investigators traveled to Homewood and arrested the suspects.

“After the execution of a search warrant on the suspect vehicle, it was determined that the females had committed thefts at twelve different CVS stores across Alabama and had stolen approximately $34,300 in merchandise from CVS during those thefts. A large portion of the stolen property was recovered from the suspect vehicle,” the post continued.

“A special thanks to Homewood PD and other assisting agencies, as well as the Cullman County District Attorney’s Office and District Attorney Champ Crocker for their help with this case,” the post said. “The Cullman Police Department would like to commend all officers and investigators involved in the arrest of these two suspects.  Thank you for your hard work!”
