CULLMAN, Ala- For the fourth year in a row, the South Cullman Walmart is hosting classic, vintage, muscle and just plain cool cars on Saturday, June 15, at its Children’s Miracle Network Benefit Car Show. With a $20 entry fee for car show participants, Janet Dye, an employee of south Walmart, hopes this year will top the last for funds raised.
“The proceeds go to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. This is our yearly kickoff,” Dye said. “Last year our store made over $38,000 for the charity.”
The show will begin at 9 a.m. with trophies handed out to the best in show at noon. The day is set to be a family fun affair with food trucks like Wright’s Baked Potatoes, K’s Botanas, Karma’s Coffee House and more set up on-site until 5 p.m.
For families and groups with small and young children that join the fun, the Cullman Police Department is dropping into the show with its helicopter and the Cullman Fire Rescue will be there everyone’s favorite Fire Dog, Paw Patrol’s Marshall.
The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office will be bringing its own fire dog; a K-9 Unit will be on scene for the event.
Local music sensation Jesse Priest will be at the show performing for the crowd at 10.
“Bring your lawn chair and enjoy!” said Dye.
