Miss Eunice Butler has recently graduated from Alverson Business College in Birmingham.

Mrs. John Luyben and Mrs. F. Mallery were joint hostesses on Thursday at a Valentine party for the Michigan Card Club.

Mrs. Alvie Biggers, Mrs. Ewing Wallace, Mrs. Harry Schlosser and Miss Mattie Leah Rollo spent Wednesday in Birmingham.

Doctor Voight Culpepper of Tuscaloosa will spend a few days this week in Cullman County on a hunting trip.

Mrs. J.L. Vick and Mrs. W. Ward were in Birmingham on Wednesday.

Winner of the school attendance contest for the month of January are Group I – Kilpatrick 94.5 percent, Group II – Simcoe 91.3 percent and Group III – Cullman County High School 94.8 percent.

Mrs. E.E. Wilhite celebrated her 70th birthday on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. V. Brandon.

Baldwin boys and girls basketball teams won over Brickyard on Friday afternoon.

Countywide meeting of the P.T.A. will be held on February 18th at City Auditorium. Miss Norman Smith will be here from Montgomery to organize a county council.

The home of George Abercrombie was totally destroyed by fire on Saturday night about 10 o’clock.

On January 3, 1936, a box of ripe strawberries was presented to the editor by Fritz Hartwig of Hanceville, Route One. The weather had not been cold enough to stop growing vegetation.

The First Christian Church gave a pounding on Wednesday for Reverend and Mrs. Piper, their pastor.

Robert Rosson has returned to State University after spending the holidays in Cullman with his parents.

Willie Griffin has returned to Howard College to resume his studies, after spending the holidays in Cullman with his folks.

Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Pope of Henry County, Georgia, were visitors in Cullman and Berlin during the past week.
