LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama has announced 23 latest inductees into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society for the 2023-24 academic year.
Leading the charge is the men’s soccer and football teams with five each. Women’s soccer and softball had two three, followed by two from baseball, women’s basketball and men’s cross country and one from women’s cross country.
Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college student-athletes who receive a varsity letter in their sport, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth term semester, and earn a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average.
Since UWA joined in 2011, a total of 220 student-athletes have been inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society. Click HERE for the history and the full list of inductees.
West Alabama is the Eta chapter of the State of Alabama in the honor society. Other schools that participate in the state include Auburn, Faulkner, UAB, Montevallo, Alabama Huntsville, Alabama State and Miles. There are 352 chapters nationwide.
A total of seven Gulf South Conference schools are in the honor society: Alabama Huntsville, Christian Brothers, Delta State, Montevallo, Lee, West Alabama and West Florida.
