Private A.P. Alvis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Alvis, formerly of Garden City was killed in Korea in late June. His body was shipped to Cullman last week. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Vernon, Frank and Julian and three sisters, Mrs. Paul Ray Anderson, Vickie Alvis and Barbara Alvis.
Carolyn Peinhardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peinhardt won eight first place ribbons with her Guerneys in the Tennessee Valley Show and a trip to Toronto, California to compete with cattle showers from other countries.
Wesley Rhodes is recuperating in St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno, California following an accident which necessitated spinal surgery. He is the eldest son of John and Mutell Gilley Rhodes, former residents of Bethsadia.
