VINEMONT, Ala– The Town of South Vinemont has been busy in the past weeks preparing for its inaugural Farmers and Makers Market, to be held Saturday, May 11, at the Vinemont Community Center. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., attendees will be able to see and learn about the multitude of talented artisans, farmers and makers in the Vinemont community.
Vinemont Town Clerk Kayecea Sasser has been handling most of the paperwork for the event, signing up over 35 vendors to the market. These vendors offer a diverse range of goods, from baked delicacies from Sweet Treats by Kendall, to Sonya Copeland’s body and home care products.
Fifteen of those vendors are generously being sponsored by The E-Center in Decatur, which has supported multiple small businesses in the Vinemont community recently. The center partners with up-and-coming small businesses in areas that show great community promise and growth. With funding from grants, the E-Center helps those small-time entrepreneurs get a footing in the world of business, guiding and assisting them with advice and resources.
“We have a lot of unique vendors,” said Sasser. “We are just getting so excited for this event and the partnership again with the Decatur E-Center.”
Temple Baptist Church will provide a large inflatable bounce house along with hotdogs and a drink, free of charge. Children from the area will also be adding a little sparkle to the event with their hand-done temporary glitter tattoos.
There will be a few food trucks on-site as well, including Smokin’ Joes BBQ and Fro’z Shaved Ice.
“We hope to have an amazing turnout,” said Sasser. “I believe the perfect blend of hard work, dedication and creativity leads to a successful event.”
The Vinemont Farmers and Makers Market will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the Vinemont Community Center located at 88 Ridgeway St.
