Updated Oct. 14, 5:50 p.m. According to Cullman County Fire and EMS Dispatch, two fires remain active at this time. Garden City firefighters are on the scene of the fire at Garden City Cemetery. Hanceville firefighters are on the scene of the fire on Highway 91 on Grund Hill.
Updated Oct. 14, 2:43 p.m. Make that 7 wildfires…Please be careful on I-65 near mile marker 302, as there is an active fire in the area. Another fire has been reported at the Garden City Cemetery.
Highway 91 has been reopened.
CULLMAN COUNTY – There have been no less than five fires today in Cullman County, according to Cullman County Fire and EMS Dispatch.
The two most recent fires are on Grund Hill, west on Highway 91, where firefighters from Hanceville, Arkadelphia and Colony are involved, and County Road 573 near Mountain Grove Church, where firefighters from Dodge City and Good Hope are on scene. The Alabama Forestry Commission is also involved.
The portion of Highway 91 near Grund Hill is closed at this time.
Earlier today, fires were reported in Joppa, Logan and Berlin.
