CULLMAN, Ala. – On April 18, 2024, various county school students met at the Alabama Farm Credit headquarters in Cullman for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) County Poultry Cook-off. The event was sponsored by the Farmers Federations, Poultry and Egg Association and Alabama Farm Credit. The poultry cook-off had two categories: casseroles and whole pieces.
The poultry casserole winners were Gracie Smith from Fairview High School, who placed first; Emily Shultz from the Cullman Area Technology Academy (CATA), who placed second; Savannah Bischoff from Cold Springs High School, who placed third; Abigail Tankersley from Vinemont High School, who placed fourth; and Taylor Tolbert from West Point High School, who placed fifth. The Farmers Federation sponsored this event.
The poultry whole piece winners were Aaliyah Twitty from Hanceville High School, who placed first; Macy Garmon from CATA, who placed second; Ashley Barron from Good Hope High School, who placed third; Sierra Cranford from West Point High School, who placed fourth; and Haley Guthery from CATA, who placed fifth. The Poultry and Egg Association sponsored this event.
The FCCLA sponsors that participated were Stephanie Blair from Cold Springs High School, Amie Veal from the CATA, Carin Rains from Cullman High School, Brittany Freeman from Fairview High School, Amanda Williams from Good Hope High School, Amy Chambers from Hanceville High School, Amelia Burke from Holly Pond High School, Renee Lee from West Point High School and Madison Bullard from Vinemont High School.
