Robert Ed “Beau” LaRue Jr., 63, of Blountsville, passed away at home on the morning of Sunday, April 21, 2024, after a long battle with malignant brain tumors. Beau is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Lynda O. LaRue; his two children, Lauren (David) Topping of Hendersonville, TN and Robert LaRue III (Emily) of Decatur; three grandchildren, Abigail Reagan and Brooks Bynum Topping and Rhett Oliver LaRue; his mother, Mrs. Nell LaRue of Blountsville; brother-in-law, Neill Tyler of Pelham, and 3 nephews, Bailey, Drew, and Cason Tyler; as well as a host of cherished extended family and friends. Beau is preceded in death by his father, Robert LaRue Sr., of Blountsville and his sister, Lisa LaRue Tyler of Pelham.
Beau LaRue was a devoted member and deacon of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church in the Royal Community, having committed his life to Christ at an early age. Beau graduated from Susan Moore High School (‘79) and Auburn University (‘85), the first in his immediate family to graduate from college, with a degree in Poultry Science. Over the course of his 35+ year professional career, Beau worked for Gold Kist, Pilgrim’s Pride (retired), and Ingram Farms as a Poultry Farm Servicer until his illness forced him to stop working.
Beau was a devoted family man and an upstanding member of his community. Beau loved music of many kinds, SCUBA diving, amateur photography, and traveling to the beach or mountains. He will be remembered by his family for his smile, his sense of humor, his work ethic, and his willingness to come to the aid of others in times of need. His children will always credit him with encouraging their dreams and ambitions, and ensuring they had opportunities to learn, grow, and experience the world. He will be deeply missed.
