CULLMAN COUNTY – Cullman County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) investigators on Tuesday arrested Alexander "Alex" Austin Thomas, 31, of Baileyton for attempted murder, first-degree theft of property and first-degree burglary.
According to a statement from the CCSO, Thomas allegedly assaulted two people in their home. He used multiple objects in the assault, including a baseball bat, liquor bottle and a kitchen knife, which he allegedly used to cut one of the victims multiple times.
The names of the victims and the address of the incident are being withheld at this time by the CCSO.
"I would like to commend the investigators on the arrest and also thank the deputies for their quick response on the day of the incident," said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry.
Thomas was also arrested on a child non-support warrant.
He is currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center with no bond.
