CULLMAN, Ala. – On Friday and Saturday, May 3-4, downtown Cullman – particularly Depot Park and the Festhalle – will host the inaugural Alabama Strawberry Festival. What was formally known as the Cullman Strawberry Festival now has statewide appeal; that announcement was made back in June of last year.

This year’s event offers another first –  it has been extended to two days. With the added draw based on the new name Alabama Strawberry Festival and extra day, Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism (CPRST) is taking the festival to the next level, welcoming big-name musicians like Eli Young Band and Niko Moon.

“This year’s Strawberry Festival is shaping up to be an exceptional event for all attendees, introducing the ‘Fresh Picks’ stage to showcase a solid lineup of new sounds. Alongside a record number of food and craft vendors, the excitement is at an all-time high,” said CPRST Executive Director Nathan Anderson. “As the inaugural Alabama Strawberry Festival, it promises a mix of new experiences and cherished traditions, making it a truly unique celebration.”

Some of those cherished traditions come in the form of  the ripe, red strawberries that will be sold by local farmers. And with more than 100 local and traveling vendors selling their produce, goods, wares and creations, along with over 20 food vendors and trucks, memories and good finds are sure to be had throughout the festival.

Anderson recalled his favorite pastime at the Strawberry Festival; he said he still takes pleasure in a ripe bucket of berries. “For me, the highlight of every Strawberry Festival is indulging in the simple joy of grabbing a bucket of the most deliciously sweet strawberries money can buy,” he said. “It’s a tradition that never fails to put a smile on my family’s face.”

Crafts, games, inflatables and children’s carnival rides will be available at the festival, providing hours of child-friendly entertainment and fun for little attendees. A larger eating and food court space will ensure ample room to enjoy every bite.

The event’s family friendly entertainment includes the Puppy Paw-geant and the Strawberry Baking Contest, both taking place on the Fresh Picks stage.

Live entertainment on the main stage of the festival will be rocking for the entire two-day event, with bands and performers from across the country performing live. Friday night, May 3, will see a smaller number of acts like Niko Moon, Matt Stell, JD Clayton and Colin Stough, while Saturday’s lineup will include a whopping six performances spanning the day. Easton Corbin, Cousin Curtiss, Kasey Tindall, Jesse Roper, Eric Hutchinson and Eli Young Band will perform.

While admission to the festival and its concerts are free, premium seating tickets for the concerts can be purchased online. Get tickets and more information at www.alabamastrawberryfest.com.
