CULLMAN, Ala. – Otters are often portrayed as silly, goofy, adorably playful things that dart and dash around. The Cullman Tribune’s Pet of the Week shares both name and attributes with the sweet animals. Otter is a beautiful brindle terrier mix currently living at the Cullman County Animal Shelter. He hopes to find a family that finds him “otterly adorable.”

This 3-year-old male loves a good afternoon of playful running and fetch. His mid-level energy allows him to keep up with playmates of any age while also giving him the opportunity to rest, snuggle and bond with his new family. His warm brown eyes and whole-body tail wag are sure to wiggle their way into hearts and hopefully a forever home.

Leashes are a breeze for Otter, even if a reminder or two is needed for manners. His demeanor and personality are the perfect calling for a therapy/service/companion pup, as he easily matches energy and pace in any environment or space. Quick learning is one of his great strengths; he picks up cues and commands from shelter staff with only a few required treats and belly rubs in return.

Are you ready to meet Otter? Head over to Cullman County Animal Shelter at 935 Convent Road NE, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for a meet and greet.

His adoption fee of $130 includes neuter, DHLPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccines, rabies vaccine, wormer, general exam at the vet and microchip.
