Funeral services for Vileta Foust, 95, of Hanceville, Alabama will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024 at Walter Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Duck River Cemetery.
Visitation for the public will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2024 at Hanceville Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Walter Baptist Church.
Mrs. Foust was born on Oct. 7, 1928 to the late Edgar and Hester Shoemaker in Cullman, Alabama. She passed away on Feb. 9, 2024 in Hanceville, Alabama. Shortly after marrying her husband, Vileta spent most of her time raising her three boys. Shortly after they reached high school age she went on to college where she eventually earned her master’s degree in education.
After completing school, Mrs. Foust gained employment with the Cullman County School System where she was the K-12 librarian at Holly Pond from 1971 to 1998. In addition to her career, Mrs. Foust was a lifelong member of Walter Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roscoe Foust; parents, and grandson, Matthew Foust.
Survivors include her children, Jeff (Janice) Foust, Kendall (Teresa) Foust and Neil (Tammy) Foust; grandchildren, Nathan (Samantha) Foust, Bradley (Tina) Foust, Amanda (Tracy) Bord, Christopher (Rachel) Wilder, Michelle (Paul) Mattox, and Dawson (Hailey) Foust; 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and her brother, Richard (Gladys) Shoemaker.
