Violet Elizabeth Davis Pair, 76, of Hanceville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024 in Falkville Health and Rehab.
Violet was born Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1947 in Cullman, Alabama, the daughter of Earl Davis and Eunice Kirk Davis. Violet lived the first twelve years of her life on a farm in the Center Hill Community. She loved to reminisce about those carefree times spent with her younger brother and sister and the adventures they enjoyed. The family later moved closer to the city of Hanceville. Violet attended Hanceville High School, Class of 1966. Her primary job experiences consisted of working as an aide in hospitals and nursing homes, where she was a favorite employee of the patients.
She married Danny Pair in 1972 and their only child, Chris, was born in 1973. Eventually, she became a stay-at home mother. Violet is fondly remembered as being a selfless person, always putting others before herself, in the home and away from it.
She later worked as a sitter for the sick and elderly. She attended First Baptist Church in Hanceville later in her life for a number of years and enjoyed feeling the security of being loved by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A joy in her life was being blessed with grandchildren and playing with them.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years: Danny Pair; a son: Chris Pair (Savahanna); grandchildren: Yasmen Pair, Haven Cooper (Blake), Michael Sharp, Lexi Sharp, Adin Carrillo, and Westin Pair; three great grandchildren: Echo, Corey, and Lazarus; a brother: Harold Davis; a sister: Lynda Davis Brown; nieces: Laurie (Leslie) Wright and Amanda Brown; nephews: Michael Sloan and Scott Sloan, a host of cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. Violet was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Eunice Davis, a sister: Ruth “Sue” Sloan and a sister-in-love: Reba Jo Wildman Davis.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2024 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Hanceville, Brother Dudley Brock, officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel Arab, Alabama directing.
Pallbearers will be Michael Sharp, Adin Carrillo, Blake Cooper, James Jordan, Scott Doss and Bryson Dillard.
Visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m.
The family would like to express their grateful thanks to the employees of the Falkville Nursing Home and SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice of Decatur for the care given to Violet at this time in her life, making her journey home more bearable for those she leaves behind to cherish her memory.
