Memorial service for Jerry David Smith, age 74, of Vinemont, will be Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with Bro. Dennis Trimble officiating.

Mr. Smith was born Aug. 12, 1949, to Henry Clay Smith, Sr. and Opal Doyle Smith. He passed from this life on Jan. 22, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Clay Smith, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cindy Smith; two sons, Chris (Rhonda) Smith, and Jeff (Cindy) Smith; one sister, Peggy (Buck) Brown; three grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Erica (Taylor) Smith-Foresythe, Chase Smith (Josh McDonald); great-grandchildren, Lili Smith, Aurora Foresythe, Aralee Foresythe, Ansley Childers; a host of family and friends.
Jerry was a faithful, long-time member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was a Mason of 50 years and served as District Lecturer also. He was a councilman for the Town of West Point and was a servant of the community. He was a two-tour combat veteran in the Vietnam War and served his country proudly. He was an avid golf lover as well. Most of all, he loved his family and his great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful man who will be missed by all who know and love him.
