VINEMONT, Ala. – Listen up, seniors! It’s arguably the best day of the month and it is headed your way. Break out your comfortable pants and dust off the conversation ice-breakers, the Town of South Vinemont is hosting its monthly senior lunch on Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. at the Vinemont Community Center.
Seniors are invited to attend the get-together, to visit with friends, share stories of old and feast on all the fresh salad, cheesy pizza pie and decadent desserts their waistbands can contain. For the pre-meal entertainment, enjoy fellowship and catching up with other senior community members; a lively game of bingo will precede the meal, complete with door prizes and knick-knacks for the players with the quickest “BINGO!”
Although north Alabama is supposed to experience some frigid temperatures next week, Councilwoman Bonnie Goodwin, the main organizer for the senior lunch, said she hopes the weather will not be a massive deterrent.
“We always have a good time. I hope the weather doesn’t keep people from coming. It’s warm food and fellowship; we always have a great time,” she said.
The menu for the afternoon will consist of an appetizer of fresh garden salad with choice of dressing and freshly sliced pizza from a local eatery. Desserts and beverages will also be provided.
Vinemont’s senior lunches are on the third Monday of each month at 10 a.m. The Vinemont Community Center is located at 88 Ridgeway Street.
