Linda Loretta Hunniecutt Jensen, age 83, of Cullman, passed away on Dec. 1, 2023, peacefully of natural causes in Hanceville, Alabama.
Linda was born Jan. 25, 1940, in Oakland, California, to Muriel and Laurens Hunniecutt. Linda had four brothers all from Sacramento, California.
Linda had four children, Frankie Smith, Roxanna Smith, Shawn Smith, and Shannon Cecil. Linda loved to paint and talk about her grandchildren in Alabama, Shawn (Emily) Cecil and Shane Cecil, and two great-granddaughters, Ella Cecil and Avery Cecil. Linda was a traveler and always had a colorful story to tell.
Linda was a cancer survivor having been diagnosed with stage-3 lung cancer three years ago at 80 years old. She had been in remission for over a year and was very thankful for her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Cecil, that tended to her every need prior to, during, and after treatments.
As Linda’s health deteriorated over the past few years, she was very thankful to the staff that assisted her at Cullman Regional Medical Center, Hanceville Nursing Home, and Southern Care New Beacon Hospice in Hanceville. Linda requested that no official service take place, and family will spread her ashes at a location that she made known near New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
