UPDATED (5:24 p.m.) – According to CPD, the driver of the car was arrested and the passenger was detained but released. The driver is Austin Eipp who according to officers ran due to outstanding warrants.

CULLMAN, Ala. – Two people are in custody following a car chase with the Cullman Police Department.
Police Chief David Nassetta stated, “Two people are detained after spikes were used to flatten the tires.”
The car chase careened around the west side of the city, cutting down backstreets before turning onto U.S. Highway 278 West, toward the interstate. Shortly after, the chase ended.
Nassetta said more details will be provided as the situation unfolds.
