CULLMAN, Ala. – Karma’s Coffee House has officially thrown its hat in the ring of food trucks serving the Cullman area with its newest venture, Karma’s Express. For those who are craving a more creative flavor combo than typical fast food iced coffees, but don’t have the time to hit the charming brick and mortar location in the Warehouse District, it’s a match made in heaven.
The endeavor was nearly a year in the making, said Magan Bartlett, events manager at Karma’s Coffee House. She explained how the setup of the secondary location benefits current Karma’s customers and will hopefully bring more in by being more accessible for those on the go – or those trying to avoid waiting on a train next to the coffee house’s original location.
“Karma’s Express is our second location, and it’s a trailer setup designed for it to be drive-through,” she said. “The best way is to enter off of Main Avenue, drive up, order, and we’ll make the drink as you wait.”
For those in even more of a rush, Bartlett hinted at online ordering coming soon to Karma’s Express, with the option to join the drive-through line to pick up, or simply park and walk to the window that handles foot traffic.
Bartlett said while the menu is limited due to space in the trailer, patrons can expect all those delicious drinks Karma’s is known for – along with some new ones exclusive to the trailer.
“We pulled all of our bestsellers, so we’ve got all your favorites and barista-crafted! We’ve added a few exclusive items for the trailer, like Sugar and Spice (a drink with spiced brown sugar) and Ripped Van Winkle (cold brew mixed with vanilla protein),” she said.
Sausage balls, protein bites and typical coffee-pairing fare like muffins and cookies are on the menu, too. “We also have our fan-favorites of our food items, the grab-and-go type of things along with our express Amazebowl!” exclaimed Bartlett.
Bartlett said while the move has been fun so far for the baristas and management, the food truck and trailer biz has not been without challenges. Yet, the folks who make Karma’s, Karma’s are keeping on, and have persevered to keep delivering a creative and unique coffee experience.
“They’ve been great team players. Of course, this is a huge learning curve, so props to anyone in the food truck industry,” she laughed. “We’re learning something new every day!”
Karma’s Express is located at 1635 Main Ave. SW, behind City Park Mini Golf. It is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
