Obituary: Alice Fay Dunn

Alice Fay Dunn, 82, of Cullman, AL passed away on Nov. 6, 2023. She was born on Sep. 24, 1941, in Winston County, AL, to the late Weldon and Fannie McGriff.

Alice was a talented seamstress who dedicated more than 40 years of her life to her craft. She had a passion for sewing and spent countless hours creating beautiful garments. In addition to love for sewing, Alice also had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her garden.

Alice will be dearly missed by her sons, John T. Dunn and Kevin W Dunn; grandsons, Logan T. Dunn and Adam W. Dunn; and granddaughter, Lauren E. Dunn. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 54 years, John R. Dunn and her sisters, Flonell Bates and Melinda Schmuck.

Alice found solace and community at Mt. Vernon Primitive Baptist, where she worshipped. Her faith was an important aspect of her life, providing her with strength and guidance.

Alice will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, her talent with a needle and thread, her love for all things green, and her caregiving. She leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity that will be cherished by all who knew her.

A celebration of life visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 8,2023, at Moss Service Funeral Home the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Moss Service Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 at 10 a.m. to honor Alice’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Alice’s memory to Mt. Vernon Primitive Baptist Church.
