David, a man whose life was defined by love, generosity, and kindness was born on November 4, 1968 in Polk County, Florida. He left this world as he lived in it on April 13, 2025 at his residence in Hanceville, Alabama.
David never met a stranger. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. His laughter was contagious, his presence comforting, and his heart always open. A truly free-hearted soul, David would do anything for anyone — no questions asked, no hesitation. Whether it was offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or simply a warm smile, he gave selflessly and wholeheartedly. To know David was to know genuine goodness. He wasn’t just a good man — he was the kind of man who reminded the world what goodness really looks like. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he impacted, in the love he gave freely, and in the memories of those lucky enough to call him friend, family, or even just a passing acquaintance.
Survivors include his father, Richard (Frances) Hackney; siblings, Steve Hackney, Joe (Jennifer) Hackney, Angel (Chris) Carnell; aunts and uncles, Norma Horton, Charles Morgan, Carthel Morgan, Diane Morgan, Irene Hackney and Geri Raney; nieces and nephews, Miranda Shipp, Isiah Carnell, Desi Hackney and Deamon Hackney.
