BAILEYTON, Ala. – The Baileyton Town Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Windell Calloway and opened with an invocation by Councilman Dewayne Sumner on Monday, April 7.
At its previous meeting, the council passed a resolution to hold the Town’s Municipal Election at the Baileyton Community Center. However, because Cullman County’s General Election is the same day, the council amended Resolution 2025-2 to move the Municipal Election from the community center to Baileyton Town Hall. Both elections will take place Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025.
The Town of Baileyton will hosts its 2025 Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m. Age categories are 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Pictures with the Easter Bunny and candy galore will be available for children of all ages with a special prize-filled golden egg also up for grabs! The hunt will take place at Baileyton Town Park, 606 Fire Station Road.
Mayor Calloway stated, “Anybody that can help hide Easter eggs. We will unlock the park at 8 o’clock and we would be happy to have you.”
In other business, the council discussed:
- Reminder to submit nominations for Citizen of the Year and Volunteer of the Year; the deadline May 30, 2025, and nominations can be made via Facebook at www.facebook.com/thetownofbaileyton
- Don Fallin spoke to the council about his dedication to serving the community and to garner support for his run for Alabama House of Representatives, District 11
- Obtaining quotes from various companies regarding enhanced security systems for the senior center and town hall
The next town council meeting will be Monday, May 5, at 7 p.m. at Baileyton Town Hall, located at 95 Fire Station Road.
