Obituary: Winifred Maddaleen Nicholas

Funeral service for Winifred Maddaleen Nicholas, 97, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 30th, 2025 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Bro. Sam Hollis officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2  p.m. prior to the service. 

Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the family. 

Mrs. Nicholas passed from this life Sunday, March 23rd, 2025 at CRMC surrounded by her family.  She was born September 11, 1927 to James D & Edith Victoria Jordan Hutchison.  She was a long time member of Eastside Baptist Church.  She was very instrumental in the bus ministry for many years.  She was an interpreter for the deaf/mute ministry.  She was awarded the  2016 Cullman Times Distinguished Citizen. She never met a stray animal that she didn’t love and give affection.  She was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and loved her family very much. 

Maddaleen was preceded in death by her parents and a son, George Victor Nicholas. 

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Stella Nicholas; grandchildren, Terry (Cindy) Nicholas, Susan (Keith) Glass, Tony (Elizabeth) Nicholas, Todd (Emily) Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Hutchison Nicholas, Gracie Nicholas, Nicholas Glass, Olivia Glass, Isaac Glass, Carter Nicholas, Parker Nicholas, Finnley Nicholas, Baylee Nicholas; family and friends.
