Steve Quick, a man who embodied the art of storytelling and lived life with a spirit of adventure, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on Thursday, March 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of family and friends. His life was a collection of rich moments, vibrant memories, and endless curiosity that touched everyone who knew him. A true keeper of stories, Steve had a knack for capturing the essence of life in his tales, whether shared under the shade tree or during quiet moments on the porch. His sharp, dry wit left many laughing long after the conversation ended. Steve was also a dedicated fan of Alabama football, cheering on the Crimson Tide with loyalty.

Steve loved the simple joys of country living—the sound of roosters crowing in the morning, the rustle of leaves in the breeze, and the peacefulness that only wide-open spaces can offer. He was most at home with nature, where his adventurous spirit thrived. A passionate collector, Steve treasured baseball cards, timeless photographs, and an eclectic mix of music that reflected his deep appreciation for history and culture. He was always ahead of the curve, being the first to explore and master the newest gadgets, embracing technology with the same enthusiasm he brought to all aspects of his life. Steve’s warmth, humor, and love for life leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, stories, and an appreciation for the little things that make life beautiful.

Survivors include his daughter, Amanda (Daniel) Quick-Hendrix; mother, Doris Quick; stepdaughter, Amber (Matthew) McDonald; grandchildren, Kendyl Hendrix, Colten Hendrix, and Cameron Malone; brother, Gregory Quick; and a host of cousins and extended family members.

Mr. Quick was preceded in death by his father, Paul Quick.

Hanceville Funeral Home is honored to serve the Quick Family.

Though he may be gone, his spirit will continue to echo through the stories he told, the memories he created, and the love he shared. Rest easy, Steve—you will be missed beyond words.
