FALKVILLE, Ala. – Community supporter, avid reader and maker of all things homemade, Stephanie Sprouse, has applied for a third Little Free Library grant, this time for the Falkville area.
“This would be a Little Free Library inside Cross Ties Coffee Company, in Falkville, Alabama,” Sprouse said. “The grant application submitted stated that I would be notified at the beginning of June if I am awarded the grant. This Little Free Library would be different from the other two I have installed in Fairview and Eva because it would have a base with four legs, on an indoor stand.”
Sprouse said the owners of Cross Ties Coffee Company welcome this addition to their shop.
“If I am awarded this grant, it would allow a Little Free Library to be open seven days a week, inside the coffee shop, where the local public libraries have more limited hours,” Sprouse said. “This coffee company has creative plans to add a coffee cup exchange with cups hanging on the wall near the future Little Free Library.”
Sprouse said Cross Ties Coffee Company is a unique local shop that is veteran owned and has a wall to honor military heroes.
“They have board games available for guests to play, homemade pastries made daily and a cozy environment, where you will want to stay a while,” she said. “They serve breakfast, lunch and are open daily. We love supporting local businesses.”
Cross Ties Coffee Company is located at 46 Railroad Ave. in Falkville.
