Mrs. Butts was born July 6, 1930 in Cullman, Alabama to the late Leacille Griffin & Alma Foust-Griffin.  She passed away March 10, 2025 in Hanceville, Alabama.

Jo was a woman of unwavering faith, a devout Christian whose love for the Lord guided her every step. Her life was a testament to kindness, grace, and quiet strength. She worked tirelessly throughout her life, never shying away from hard work and always putting others before herself.

A lover of all flowers, Jo found joy in the simple beauty of nature — from the first bloom of spring to the last rose of summer. Her garden was a reflection of her soul: colorful, nurturing, and filled with life.

Above all, Jo cherished her family. She was the heart and glue of her family, always ready with a warm embrace, gentle wisdom, and unconditional love. Her legacy of love, faith, and perseverance lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Perkins and James Laney (Pat); 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Terry Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Butts was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Butts; daughter, Anita Davis; parents, Leacille Griffin & Alma Foust-Griffin; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.

Hanceville Funeral Home is honored to serve the Butts family.
