Funeral Service for John Ellis Hodge, age 92 of Cullman, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Trae Norrell, Kevin Rice and Will Hodge officiating; Burial will be at Cullman City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Hodge passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Hanceville Nursing Home. He was born November 10, 1932, to John Grady Hodge and Norma Hodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wanda Jean Holcombe Hodge, brother, Euell Hodge, sisters, Mary Rose McGukin and Mildred Williamson.
Survivors include his daughter, Allison (Eddie) Rice; son, Tim (Glenda) Hodge; grandson, Kevin Rice; granddaughter, Kelsey Rice Scott (Adam), grandson, William (Lydia) Hodge, grandson, Hayden Hodge, grandson, Hunter Hodge (Cassidy); great grandchildren, Harlow Kate Rice, Greyson Hodge, John Paul Scott, Grier Hodge and sister, Polly Tankersley, A host of nieces, nephew and friends.
Ellis served his country proudly in the United States Air Force Communications Battalion during the Korean War. He was a founding member of Berlin Volunteer Fire Department and served as Treasurer there for 25 years. He was also a founding board member of the Cullman County Industrial Development Board and served 13 years on the board. He was a proud Mason for 50 years and a faithful member of Grace Chapel Church.
