CULLMAN, Ala. – Strawberry producers, both seasoned and new, will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights at the upcoming Strawberry Production Meeting on Tuesday, March 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Camp Meadowbrook in Cullman. This free event, hosted by Alabama Extension, will cover key industry topics, including updates on the Neopestalotiopsis (Neo-P) disease, weed and insect management strategies and results from Auburn University’s variety trials. The meeting will also feature a Q&A panel with experienced strawberry producers, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions directly to industry experts and seasoned growers.
“The Strawberry Production Meeting is back in North Alabama and will be a great learning opportunity for growers as harvest season approaches,” said Dr. Kira Sims, Cullman County Extension director.
“Strawberry producers will have a chance to learn from Alabama Extension specialists and agents, who are bringing research data from Auburn University and beyond to the local farmer,” Dr. Sims added. “Networking will also be an integral part as new and experienced farmers meet one another and they can talk directly to the Extension staff.”
For commercial pesticide applicators, continuing education points will be available for D&R, AP and REG categories.
Although the event is free, registration is required by Friday, Feb. 28. A complimentary lunch will be provided for registered participants. Registration is available at www.aces.edu/event/strawberry-production-meeting-north-alabama-3-4.
