Marjorie Harris Bolzle, age 91, of Birmingham, AL, passed away on February 11, 2025. She was born in Cullman, AL on September 12, 1933. She was the second child of William Henry Harris and Floy Burks Harris. Marj married Robert Toral Bolzle on January 7, 1950, and graduated from Holly Pond High School that same year. Marj and Robert made their home in Birmingham, AL, and were married for 72 years.

Marj was a longtime member of Eighty Fifth Street Baptist Church, which became Deerfoot Baptist. She served in the church library, as church historian, and as a greeter. She also volunteered at her children’s schools and drove them to countless piano, swim, speech and dance lessons sewing many costumes and dresses by hand. She often hosted both church and school groups in her home. She worked as a switchboard operator at Sears, part time as a Kelly Girl, and in medical records at Hillcrest Hospital. Her grandchildren will remember her for fun times at the farm and her wonderful cooking skills, particularly her strawberry shortcake and chicken dressing.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, two brothers, James Winfred Harris (Maxine), Wendell Ray Harris, and one sister, Ellen Harris Michael. She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Bolzle Griffin, and Tracy Bolzle Guice (Matt), four grandchildren, John Cameron Falkner, Tracy Kendall Falkner, Matthew Lee Guice, Jr (Katie) and Margaret Guice Gambril (Alan), and three great grandsons, James Alan Gambril, Harris Matthew Gambril and Wesley Lyon Gambril. She is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Harris Golden, Dianne Harris Crumbley (Jesse), sister-in-law Glenda Harris Twilley, and many other family members and friends.

Services will be held at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Cullman, AL, on Friday, February 21, 2025, with visitation at 1 p.m. and graveside services at 2 p.m.
