CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Police Department patrol vehicles are sporting new designs. The new styles update the look of the fleet in general, but also serve to increase visibility and officer safety, the department said.
“Updated striping on the vehicles features a highly visible dash pattern on the rear and one large stripe on the side, ensuring patrol units are easily seen during calls and especially traffic stops. They also make the units more visible within the community.
“I think it’s a fresh, unified look at our agency that the officers and the citizens can be proud of with the new design because it’s very professional in my opinion,” said Chief Joey Duncan.
The new designs display “Cullman colors” like black and gold and proudly sport the department’s core values: Community, Professionalism, Duty. The transition to the new decals is an ongoing process expected to take up to a year or a year and a half for full fleet implementation.
All newly acquired vehicles, including Ford Interceptors, which have been selected for their cost effectiveness and availability over the Chevrolet Tahoes, according to the CPD, will feature the updated design.
Said Duncan, “The new design of our police fleet encompasses a lot of the input of police officers here and it represents the tradition of our police department, which we’re very proud of.”
