JONES CHAPEL, Ala. – The Jones Chapel Volunteer Fire Department held its annual elections this month and recently announced the results.

Fire Chief Clint Thrasher said if all active members are in good standing, they have a vote.

“We take nominations and then vote if more than one person is nominated,” he said. “Any active member in good standing in the department is eligible for any elected position.”

The expectations of each member can vary depending on if you want to be an interior firefighter, EMS responder or a support staff, Thrasher said.

“All fire and EMS training is paid for by the fire department,” he continued. “To be a support member, no specialized training is required. No experience is necessary for any of the positions.”

The following individuals were elected to serve as in leadership positions for 2025:

  • Clint Thrasher, fire chief, call sign JC 01
  • Brandy Thrasher, secretary/treasurer, call sign JC 06
  • Lindsey Bryant, treasurer, call sign JC 04

The following members were re-appointed by Thrasher to serve in 2025:

  • Brad Atkins, assistant chief, call sign JC 02
  • Brian Maze, assistant chief, call sign JC 03
  • Lindsey Bryant, EMS captain, call sign JC 04
  • Shannon Bryant, fire captain, call sign JC 05
  • Morris Williams, lieutenant, call sign JC 07
  • Austin Thomas, lieutenant, call sign JC 08
  • Brian Burchett, lieutenant, call sign JC 09

“Thanks to everyone for your support of our department,” Thrasher said. “We hope you have a wonderful year.”
