CULLMAN, Ala. –  The Cullman Senior Center recently held a popular introduction to frame loom weaving class, and now the second one of the year is set. The class, aimed toward those 60 and older, will take place Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m. at the center.

Cullman Senior Center Manager Kristie Young said the class is $42 per person, which includes all supplies. Seating is limited, so those interested are encouraged to sign up soon. The class will be taught by Emily Wallace with Handwoven Designs.

Another opportunity is the fused glass art class, which will take place Tuesday, March 18, at 12:30 p.m. at the center.

For $22 per person, participants can make a fused glass flowerpot magnet to take home. Seating for that class, taught by Kimberly Love, is also limited, so sign up soon.

Young said the center offered a line dancing class for 18 months prior to taking a break over the holidays.

“We will resume line dancing class on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 12:30 p.m.,” she said. “The class is for beginners or intermediate dancers. The class is free and Patricia Quick is the instructor.”

All classes at the center are open to those 60 and older. Young said there are some exceptions — like a senior over 60 with an adult child who wants to attend.

The Cullman Senior Center is located at 1539 Sportsman Lake Road NW in Cullman. Get more info by calling 256-734-0145 or visiting Cullman Senior Center and Travel on Facebook.
