CULLMAN, Ala. – As potential inclement weather approaches, 3Sixty Jeep Club is gearing up to provide critical assistance to residents of Cullman and surrounding counties. Known for its commitment to community service, the nonprofit organization is prepared to assist with transportation and recovery efforts during Friday’s winter storm. Those in need can request assistance by filling out the Ride Assistance Form on the club’s website at https://3sixtyjeepclub.com. A four-hour notice is required to ensure proper coordination.
When a transportation request is submitted via the form, the club coordinates with available volunteers to ensure a timely response. “Once we receive the request, we get in contact with the available volunteer and get them dispatched,” explained Jenny Smith, a club representative. “The volunteer will then contact the individual needing assistance, confirming the request has been received and staying in contact with the individual and base services until the ride is complete.”
3Sixty Jeep Club operates as part of the Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) network. This collaboration ensures effective disaster response through coordination with the County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), FEMA and other nonprofit organizations. “VOAD stands for Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster,” 3Sixty Jeep Club shared on its Facebook page. “The purpose is to provide effective services to communities affected by disasters through cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration.”
“With us being a nonprofit organization, we are geared towards community outreach,” shared Summer Shaddix, public relations spokesperson for 3Sixty Jeep Club. “There are multiple businesses working hand in hand with the VOAD, EMA and FEMA but have limited resources with offroad and recovery needs, so that’s where we come in. When a need arises, we will then receive a call or text from the local EMA/VOAD informing us of the need and that’s when we begin dispatching.”
Shaddix confirmed that the club has been activated by the EMA as of Wednesday and is standing by to assist.
The club’s volunteers undergo extensive training, including off-road recovery, CPR, first aid and FEMA-based certifications. Many of its members are first responders, ensuring a professional and prepared team during emergencies.
As the winter weather looms, Shaddix encourages residents to stay safe. “Please remain home unless you are essential and enjoy the break. If you need our services, bear with us as we have an influx of requests.” The club emphasized patience during high-demand periods and assured the community they are committed to meeting needs as efficiently as possible.
“We are here to give a hand and help when needed,” Shaddix added. “We are always looking for volunteers. You don’t have to own a Jeep but hang out with us long enough and you will own one.”
