Jackie “Shotgun” Currington, age 77, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Shotgun was born in Alabama in 1947 to William “Rube” and Ida Lee Leggette Currington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Currington; brothers: Lee Currington and David Currington; and a grandson, Keaton Lantz Currington.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Deborah Currington; daughter, Sherry (Doug) Schwan; sons: Jackie (Sabrina) Currington, Scottie (Brittney) Currington and Shane Currington; grandchildren: Alan (Elise) Bright, Daniel Tucker, Sydney (Kristian) Chappell, Sawyer (Emily Currington, Dylan Currington, Karson Currington, Allysen Currington, Journie Currington, and Kori Currington; great grandchildren: Kadince and Ethan Fortenberry; Abigail Bright; Blakeleigh Tucker, Marshall Tucker, Adelaide Chappell, Aurora Chappell, River Currington and June Currington; and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024 from 12 p.m. until the celebration of “Shotgun’s” life which will begin at 2 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Crossroads Cemetery.
